VALLEY COMMUNITY GROWTH CONNECTION. Midway Chevrolet Inc and The Chevy Allstars presented to Dee and Chester of the Valley Community Growth Connection a check for $1000 to go towards the Splash Pad maintenance and water bill. The Splash Pad, which is located in Rome Township, was built and maintained by the Valley Community Growth Connection.


 


Our history started when George and Ilda Askins aspired to make change for themselves and their community. They opened a garage in 1934, which became a Pontiac dealership five years later. Their success lasted until George's death in 1966.

With the future of the business then uncertain, Walter Scott, husband of George and Ilda's daughter Charlotte, purchased the dealership from his mother-in-law. In 1974, Walter saw opportunity when a local Chevrolet and Buick dealership closed. He took on Chevrolet and Buick for his own business, and his overall success enabled him to upgrade his dealer's main building as well as to open additional service buildings and a body shop. The body shop opened up in 1969, and to this day it is managed by Rodney Millikin.

The business stayed healthy for decades, but in 2008, our history was changed. General Motors shut down Pontiac and removed Buick from our dealership. But change didn't stop there. In 2015 the original dealership was torn down for our new modern dealership.

Now Midway Chevrolet is in a new era. Walter unexpectedly passed in 2016, and the business was taken over by his two sons, Jack and Jim Scott.
